Former Negros Oriental representative Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr. on Friday did not enter a plea in one his cases, prompting a Quezon City (QC) court to enter a not guilty plea for him, according to his camp.
Teves' camp said the QC Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 77 entered a not guilty plea for the former lawmaker in his case for alleged violation of the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012.
He again invoked his right to remain silent.
Meanwhile, the pre-trial for the case was set in August.
Teves also previously did not enter a plea for his consolidated case of illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of explosives, as well as his multiple murder case over the alleged killing of late Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
In August 2023, the former lawmaker and 12 others were designated as terrorists by the Anti-Terrorism Council, citing several alleged killings and harassment in Negros Oriental. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
